Odongo is UNEB new Executive Secretary Be the first to comment!

We come again in thanksgiving to God for his graces as we celebrate and congratulate one of our Parishioners, Daniel Nokrach Odongo upon being selected as the new executive secretary of the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) following the examinations boards governing body announcement yesterday.

Odongo( R-in picture) is an actively involved member of our parish who  has served as the Patron of St. Paul Choir Mbuya that animates the 11 O’clock mass every Sunday for over 7 years, before handing over to Rachel Ssebudde (L- in picture) early this year. He has also served on the board of Our School St. Kizito Senior Secondary School Bugolobi.

He replaces Mathew Bukenya who has served the examination board for 20 years now as Executive Secretary. Bukenya, 80-plus-year old, a former accountant at UNEB, retired after clocking 60 years but was recalled to take over as acting executive secretary in 1997 after David Livingstone Ongom left the organisation.

Daniel Nokrach Odongo who is currently the Deputy Executive secretary and head of secondary school examination department will take on his duties as the new Executive in April 2016.

“The process of replacing Mr Bukenya is ongoing. The board decided to vary that in the view of the fact that we are in the middle of processing and releasing results of PLE (Primary Leaving Exams), UCE and UACE. So it was decided that the sitting executive secretary completes the cycle of these examinations so as to enable a smooth transition. So his term has been extended to the 31st of March. So come 1st of April we should have a new executive secretary”, Prof Mary Okwakol, the UNEB chairperson said.

The appointment followed a competitive and transparent recruitment process that started last year in which Odongo emerged the best evaluated candidate out of eight who were interviewed for the job.

We thank God for all the blessings he has bestowed to us as a parish through our mother Mary, Our Lady of Africa. We pray that he showers his blessings upon Daniel Nockrach Odong as he takes on his new task in serving the Citizens of Our Country Uganda.

May he shower him with his holy spirit and guide him throughout his service.

Congratulation Daniel Nockrach Odongo!

I have so much attraction to the service of the church which i do so passionately. All my life, i have lived in the service of the Lord especially through singing in Church and this is my passion, I attribute all this to the foundation i got in my Primary school, St. Kizito Primary School which moulded me to love church service. Here, find reflections to improve your faith, I also invite you to join us at Mbuya and praise the lord. You'll love being part of our community.

I also invite you to promote this, our Parish website that gives us global outlook to enable us reach and evangilize to millions all around the world.
