Baptism of the Lord

  2. We thank all those who have supported the parish financially during this Christmas. The Christmas envelopes totaled to Ugx8,329,200. May the Good Lord reward you all.
  3. The Catholic Charismatic Renewal Kampala Archdiocese invites all Christians to a conference from 19th to 25th January 2015 at Uganda Martyrs Shrine Namugongo. The details are on the notice board.
  4. Centenary Bank officials will be here next Sunday 18th January, 2015 for Parishioners who would like to open accounts. Requirements for opening an account are:
      1.  Valid Identity Card
      2.  passport size photos
      3.  Opening cash deposit
  5. The Christians from Tororo Archdiocese are informed of the Episcopal Golden Jubilee celebrations of Archbishop Emeritus James Odongo to take place on 21st February 2015. You are invited to attend a planning meeting on Wednesday 14th January, 2015 at 5.00pm at Christ the King Church.
  6. Reachout Mbuya announces two jobs of a tailor and a CATTS leader, applications should not be later than 21st January 2015. Details are on the notice board.
  7. The Focolare Movement invites young people from 15 years and above for a behavior change residential course based on Christian values from Monday 12th January to Monday 19th January 2015. Details are on the notice board.
  8. We thank all those who have honoured their pledges for the Banda project and we remind those who have not yet so, to come soon.
  9. A football and netball tournament for all the youth of the parish in Memory of Fr. Joseph Archetti and Fr. Mario Imperial will take place on Saturday 31st January 2015 at St. Kizito Primary School Bugolobi. All youth are encouraged to participate. Sponsors are invited to help buy the balls, or come to the Parish office to support the Initiative.

1st Sunday of Advent (year B)

  2. We thank all those who are participating in the Advent popular mission. Next week the mission will be in St. Julia and Mbuya Centre and home visitations start at 5pm.
  3. Those who would like to baptize children during the month o December should come for instructions on Saturday 6th December, 2014 at 3.30pm. Baptisms will be on 14th December and 26th December, 2014.
  4. Tomorrow is World Aids Day. We are encouraged to join in the fight against HIV-Aids. Reachout Mbuya Parish HIV initiative will animate the 11 O’clock mass today and they will have a message for all of us.  We thank them for the good work.
  5. There will be a National Youth Convention at Nsambya Yes centre from the 11th to 14th December, 2014. Nonresidents pay Ugx20,000 and Residents pay Ugx40,000. More details are on the Notice board.
  6. The Healing service is today starting at 2.20pm.
  7. Kinawataka choir invites all Christians to their Christmas carols presentation today starting at 2.00pm.
  8. St. Paul choir that sings during the 11 O’clock mass invites you to their Christmas carols on 14th December, 2014 at Silver Springs Hotel Bugolobi starting at 6.00pm. Find tickets outside church after mass and anytime with the choir members.
  9. Our Lady of Africa choir will present Christmas carols on Sunday 14th December, 2014 starting at 3.00pm.
  10. The fundraising Function for Banda House will start with mass at 10.30am at the kindergarten hall. The 11 O’clock mass will be celebrated at the kindergarten hall

  2. The Popular mission begins tomorrow 24th November, 2014 in B. Home visitations begin at 5.00pm.
  3. The Parish Pastoral Council meets today after the 9.00 am mass in the Parish hall.
  4. Next Sunday 30th November, 2014, Reach Out will animate the 11 O’clock mass.
  5. Today, the children who received confirmation this year will make their final commitment today in the 11.00 mass. We congratulate them.
  6. There will be training for women in business skills and registration is tomorrow 24th November, 2014 starting at 9.00 am to 12.00 pm at Mbuya Church.
  7. All Catholics from Tororo Archdiocese are informed that your Archbishop Emmanuel Obbo will meet you at Bweyogerere Catholic Parish next Sunday 30th November, 2014 and mass will begin at 10.30 am.
  8. St. Kizito Primary School Bugolobi informs all Christians that interviews for P.1 to P.6 2015 are going on. Pick forms from the school.
  9. There will be a healing service organized by the Charismatic renewal next Sunday 30th November, 2014 starting at 2.20 pm.

33rd Sunday in ordinary time year A

  2. Today is the sub parish day of Kinawataka. They   celebrate their patron saint Joseph Mukama Balikuddembe.
  3. Today St. Kizito Secondary school Bugolobi animates the 9.00 am mass and the 11.00 am mass.
  4. The men’s Guild will hold elections today 16th November, 2014 after the 9.00 am mass in the parish hall.
  5. The Final commitment of children who celebrated confirmation this year will be next Sunday 23rd November, 2014 during the 11 O’clock mass. The confessions will be on Saturday 22nd November, 2014.
  6. The Focolare movement invites everyone to the word of life meeting next Sunday 23rd November, 2014 from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm at the Focolare Center next to the Vatican Embassy.
  7. Next Sunday after the 5pm mass, the Praise and Worship team will present Christmas carols to the congregation.
  8. There will be a retreat organized by Kampala Archdiocese at Munyonyo for Catechists, ushers, Alter servers, choir masters. The retreat will take place next Saturday 22nd November, 2014 starting at 9.00 am. Please register in the Parish office.

Feast of Dedication of Lateran Basilica

  2. Today there will be baptism of infants after the 11 O’clock mass.
  3. Kampala Ecclesiastical province will make their pilgrimage to Namugongo on Saturday 15th November, 2014. All Christians are encouraged to join in the historical celebration of the jubilee of the canonization of the Uganda Martyrs.
  4. Kinawataka Sub parish will celebrate their Sub parish day on Sunday 16th November, 2014.
  5. There will be a spiritual conference starting on Friday 14th November, 2014 at 2.00pm and Saturday 15th November from 8.00am to 4.45pm in Mbuya church. This conference is organized by the Charismatic Renewal and you are all invited.
  6. Christmas carols performance on Sunday 23rd November, 2014 feast of Christ the King in the church starting at 6.00pm after the evening mass.
  7. The men’s Guild will hold elections at the Parish on Sunday 16th November, 2014 after the 9.00am mass in the parish hall.
  8. The children who celebrated Confirmation this year will make their final commitment on the Feast of Christ the King Sunday 23rd November, 2014 during the 11 O’clock mass.
  9. St. Kizito Secondary School Bugolobi will animate the 9.00am and 11.00am mass next Sunday 16th November, 2014.
  10. The Parish Priest and the organizing committee inform all parishioners and friends that we shall hold a fundraising function for the construction of the priests’ house at Banda. This function will be on Sunday 7th December, 2014 in the Kindergarten hall after the 9.00am mass.

All souls Day

  2. The Baptism of children will be next Sunday 9th November, 2014 and those to baptize should have come yesterday 1 November, 2014 for instructions. The next instructions will be on Saturday 8th November, 2014 at 3.30pm.
  3. Those who applied for Jobs with Verona Fathers and have been shortlisted should go for interviews next Saturday 8th November, 2014n starting at 8.30a.m.
  4. The New Leaders of the Parish will swear in today 2nd November, 2014 during the 11.00am mass. We pray for them.
  5. Women are invited to attend a workshop next Saturday 8th November, 2014 in the Mbuya Parish hall. This workshop is to help women be able to bring up children in a Christian way.
  6. We pray for all P.7 candidates who will begin their UNEB final exams tomorrow. May the Holy Spirit give them wisdom and peace.
  7. The church has started to publish the MUNNO newspaper which will be weekly and sold outside the church at Ugx1000 a copy. We are encouraged to support.
  8. Those from Mbarara Ecclesiastical province will make their pilgrimage to Namugongo next Sunday 9th November, 2014.
  9. The Kampala Ecclesiastical province will make their pilgrimage to Namugongo to celebrate the Jubilee of the Canonization of the Martyrs on Saturday 15th November, 2014.

  12. We are kindly encouraged to offer mass for our departed relatives and friends during the month of November. The stamps where we can write the names of our departed relatives are available in the office with a prayer which should be prayed daily. 

30th Sunday in ordinary time (A)

  2. Today is the day of the Archdiocese of Kampala. The mass begins at 10.00am.
  3. Today St. Kizito Primary School Bugolobi will animate the 11 O’clock mass and the candidates will be blessed as they prepare for their final exams.
  4. Those who would like to baptize their children during the month of November should come for instructions next Saturday 1st November, 2014. Parents and God parents must attend. The instructions begin at 3.30pm.
  5. There will be a healing service today organized by the charismatic Renewal starting at 2.20pm.
  6. All Mbuya Centre sub parish members are invited for a meeting next Sunday 2nd November, 2014 after the 9 O’clock mass.
  7. All those from Mbarara Ecclesiastical province will make their pilgrimage to Namugongo on Sunday 9th November, 2014 and mass will start at 10.00am.
  8. St. Pierre and Alix college Naddangira, would like to recruit a principal for the college. Applications should not be later than 5th November, 2014. Find details on the parish notice board.
  9. All Christians from Budaka Parish will have a meeting with their Parish Priest today 26th October, 2014 starting at 1.00pm at Mbuya.
  10. Those who have not yet picked envelopes to thank God for the gift of the Cross are kindly asked to take the envelopes that has been prepared and remember to bring it back. We thank all those who have already handed in their envelopes.
  11. The New Leaders of the Parish will be presented to the community next Sunday 2nd November, 2014 during the 11.00am mass.

28th Sunday in ordinary time (A)

  1. Marriage banns
  2. The month of October is the month of the Rosary and the missions. We are encouraged to pray the rosary every day and to pray for the work of evangelization.
  3. Today we shall have baptisms for infants after the 11.00am mass. We are requested to pray for them to grow in their faith.
  4. Catechism classes have started at Kiswa Primary School every Saturday starting at 8.00am. Parents living around Kiswa and Kataza are reminded and encouraged to send their children for the instructions.
  5. Reachout Mbuya HIV-AIDS initiative announces job opportunity of a medical officer and registry clerk for more details check on the notice board.
  6. Next Sunday the 19th October, 2014 will be world mission Sunday. We are reminded to prepare our financial support for the missions on the same day. We shall have Jesus of Mbuya officially Inaugurated.
  7. The Leadership, the traces and the Calendar for 2015 are outside for Sale, we are encouraged to buy a copy.
  8. The tithe envelopes are available in the sacristy or the parish office.
  9. Our Lady of Africa Kindergarten- Mbuya informs all parents who wish to register their children in the Nusery for 2015 to pick forms from the Kindergarten office. At the same time those who wish to get the Day Care Program can approach the office for more information.

  2. The month of October is the month of the Rosary and the missions. We are encouraged to pray the rosary every day and to pray for the work of evangelization. Mission Sunday will be on the 3rd Sunday 19th October, 2014. Besides prayer, we are encouraged to support economically the work of evangelization.
  3. Every Individual, family and Community are encouraged to pray the Rosary every day during this month of October. Those who live around the church can pray the Rosary at the Grotto every day at 6.00pm.
  4. Those who would like to baptize children during the month of October are informed that the second baptism instructions will be next Saturday 11th October, 2014 starting at 3.30pm. The parents and God parents must attend.
  5. All Christians of Bugolobi sub parish are reminded of your meeting to take place today 5th October 2014 at 11.00am at WELL CARE on plot 37, Bandali Rise, Bugolobi.
  6. Volunteers are invited to register with Sr. Elizabeth for the teaching of Sunday school every Sunday.
  7. We congratulate all the Ugandans on the 52nd Independence Day that will be celebrated this week on Thursday 9th October, 2014.

  12. The Christians of Kiswa- Kataza (St. Matia Mulumba) are informed that catechism classes have started at Kiswa Primary School every Saturday starting at 8.00am. So the children of that area do not need to group to St. Kizito Primary school Bugolobi.

About Our Church

Welcome to Our Lady of Africa Parish Mbuya. We are located near Bugolobi Township in Nakawa Division. It is about 5 kms from the City Centre of Kampala. Mbuya Catholic Parish is a vibrant and diverse community made up of people from different parts of Uganda. We welcome you warmly and joyfully.
