Alter servers
Introduction
The Altar Servers Group of Our Lady of Africa Mbuya Parish is a lively community of young people dedicated to serving God and His Church through faithful service at the altar. Supported by their parents, parishioners, and friends of the parish family, the group is united by prayer, discipline, and a love for the liturgy.
Serving at the altar is both a privilege and a calling. It provides the youth with an opportunity to grow in holiness, strengthen their Catholic faith, and develop values of humility, teamwork, and reverence. By assisting the priests and deacons during Holy Mass and other liturgical celebrations, the altar servers play a vital role in enriching the worship life of the parish.
- The altar servers’ service extends beyond the sanctuary to include:
- Liturgical Service – supporting priests and deacons during Mass, sacraments, and parish ceremonies.
- Spiritual Growth – deepening their faith through catechesis, prayer, and retreats.
- Community Engagement – joining parish outreach, charity works, and visiting the needy.
- Youth Formation – building discipline, teamwork, and responsibility among young people.
- Parish Life – promoting unity, participation, and active involvement in the wider parish community.
Together, the altar servers of Our Lady of Africa Mbuya Parish form a family of faith, dedicated to glorifying God through service and living out the spirit of humility, devotion, and joy at the Lord’ altar.
