The first love of my life was towards the unfortunate Africa, and leaving behind all that was precious to me, I came to offer my services to lighten their burdens.
Our brief history
It is not very clear exactly when Banda Catholic Sub-Parish started. However reliable sources indicate that it started in the mid-nineteen forties (1940s) and was at that time under the jurisdiction of Nsambya Parish up to 1950 when it was transferred to Namugongo Parish.
In those early days the Banda Catholic Community was under the care of a non-resident Catechist by the names of Alfonse who was commuting from Kamuli. In 1960, Mr Paul Lubuulwa took over as the first resident Catechist. In the same year, the Sub-Parish was entrusted to St. Paul as patron saint in recognition of the Apostle’s missionary teaching and the good work done by Catechist Paul Lubuulwa (RIP).
