St. Joseph Mukasa Balikuddembe Kinawataka Sub-Parish
A Journey of Faith and Community
In 1995, a small group of 10 Christians gathered in a nursery classroom, marking the humble beginnings of Kinawataka Sub Parish. Through door-to-door evangelization and popular missions, the community grew, fueled by the dedication of pioneer members and the support of the late Rev. Fr. Joseph Archetti.
A significant milestone was reached when Cardinal Emmanuel Wamala visited the community for an Agape celebration, inspiring the dream of building a church. After negotiations with the Daughters of Charity, the land was purchased, and the construction of the church began in 2000. Despite challenges, the church was completed in 2006, thanks to the support of Fr. Archetti, Comboni missionaries, and friends from Italy.
Today, Kinawataka Sub Parish is a thriving community of over 400 members, residing in four villages. We share our premises with Reachout Community Health Initiative, supporting those affected and infected by HIV/AIDS. As we look forward to celebrating our 20th anniversary, we’re fundraising for church renovations and beautification.

The first love of my life was towards the unfortunate Africa, and leaving behind all that was precious to me, I came to offer my services to lighten their burdens.
