St. Zulia Sub-Parish
St. Julia Sub Parish, nestled within the grounds of Our Lady of Africa Mbuya Parish, is a vibrant community church serving approximately 800 faithful residing in its vicinity. Our congregation primarily comprises traders and laborers from corporate entities in the suburban areas of Kampala.
The Sub-parish derives its name from the generous benefactor who donated the land for the construction of the church two decades ago—St. Julia of Corsica, also known as St. Julia of Carthage or St. Julia of Nonza. Born into nobility in Carthage, she bravely embraced martyrdom rather than renounce her faith in Christ. Her feast day, celebrated on May 23, coincides with the anniversary of our chapel’s founding.
Originally designed to accommodate 200 worshipers, our church has expanded its services due to the growing population. Please refer to the schedule below for our mass timings:

Join Our Parish Community
The first love of my life was towards the unfortunate Africa, and leaving behind all that was precious to me, I came to offer my services to lighten their burdens.
Get Involved
Our community encourages active participation in various devotional groups such as Our Lady of Africa, Legion of Mary, St. Julia, and St. Jude. Please reach out to the head of the laity or the Catechist for guidance and registration.
Our Youth Ministry engages in community-oriented activities including environmental upkeep, skill development, empowerment programs, and providing assistance to the sick and needy.
Joining our choir is an act of double worship, as you serve God through music and aid in uplifting souls to Christ. We have two choirs: St. Julia Choir performs at 11:00 am, while St. Jude Choir sings at 7:00 am.
For those interested in community engagement, we recommend registering with church leadership to receive invitations to participate in various programs, both at the main church and our outstation.
Additionally, we have initiated a community savings group at the church, allowing members to save 1000/= per year without withdrawal until year-end, promoting financial stability within our community.
