Yesterday, our parish joyfully came together with hundreds of children to commemorate the Feast of the Holy Innocents. This special occasion began with a beautiful and moving Holy Mass, led by our Parish Priest and animated by the talented children from Kinawataka Subparish. The celebration was a profound reflection on faith, remembrance, and the courage of the innocent martyrs who became the first witnesses for Christ.
The Feast of the Holy Innocents honors the young souls who were tragically taken by Herod’s decree—a reminder of the eternal struggle between good and evil. Their sacrifice reminds us of the victorious hope found in Jesus Christ, who triumphs over darkness.
After the Mass, the children were treated to a vibrant reception filled with joy, fun, and learning. The program was beautifully coordinated by Joan Banura, who served as the children’s MC, ensuring the event ran smoothly and remained lively. The children enjoyed a variety of activities, including games, presentations, and teachings about the significance of the Holy Innocents. A highlight of the day was the participation of children from Kasaala Parish in Luweero, who graced the event as invited guests and delighted everyone with their impressive performances.
The celebrations culminated with the cutting of a cake, symbolizing unity and shared joy, followed by a heartwarming visit from Father Christmas and Mickey Mouse, who distributed gifts to the children, leaving smiles and unforgettable memories.
This remarkable event would not have been possible without the support and contributions of our dedicated parents, the unwavering commitment of our Sunday School teachers who spearheaded the preparations, and the guidance of our Parish Priest. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Joan Banura and Ten Ten Tadeo for their exceptional roles as the childrens’ MCs and to all parishioners who played a role in making this day truly special.
As we reflect on this day, let us continue to pray for the protection of all children and for the strength to stand for life and truth in the face of challenges. May we always strive to be beacons of love, hope, and justice in our community and beyond.
Blessings to all who made this day a success!
